In terms of architecture that encourages a creative creativity, the Wolfartsweier Kindergarten is notable for promoting an alternate, animalistic style for what a school should be.
2. CORRUGATED CREATIONS
Tirau, New Zealand
A work of art, a logo or emblem, a garden statue or feature, an industrial or retail sign, a city icon or an entrance-a Corrugated Creation enhances all of them.
3. DUCK OF FLANDERS
Flanders, New York
In 1931, some local builders were commissioned by Riverhead duck farmer Martin Maurer to create this 10-ton eye-catcher using concrete (technically, “ferrocement”) applied over a wooden framework. Taillights from a Model T Ford, glowing red at night, became his eyes. Maurer delivered ducks and eggs to his belly from the market.
4. LUCY THE ELEPHANT
Margate City, New Jersey

5. FRESHWATER FISHING HALL OF FAME
Haywadrd, Wisconsin
Our mission is to develop and maintain the Fresh Water Fishing Hall of Fame and its museum for preserving and displaying historic freshwater sportfishing artifacts. We strive to conduct and maintain a program to recognize persons, organizations, and institutions that have made significant and lasting contributions to the freshwater fishing sport and heritage.
6. DOG BARK PARK INN
Cottonwood, Idaho
SWEET WILLY, AT 30 FEET tall, is not just the biggest beagle in the world – he’s also a bed and breakfast. Inside of Sweet Willy, chainsaw artists Dennis J. Sullivan and his wife, Frances Conklin, have built a single room, complete with bathroom and loft, for visitors passing through the area.
7. MACAU PAVILION
Shanghai, China
At Shanghai World Expo 2010 the Macau Pavilion will take the form of a jade rabbit lantern. The pavilion will be wrapped with a double layer glass membrane and feature fluorescent screens on its outer walls designed by Chinese firm Carlos Marreiros Architects. Balloons will serve as the ‘rabbit’ head and tail, that can be moved up and down to attract visitors.
8. CRAB BUILDING
Dagupan, Philippines
Forget the bears for rabbits, ducks and koala. Here’s a building crawled straight out of the ocean and into our nightmares in the Philippines.
9. BALADE DES GNOMES
Durbuy, Belgium

10. TURTLE BUILDING
Niagara Falls, New York
The former Native American Cultural Center was the turtle-shaped building. I remember them when I was a kid hosting pow wows and other cool events. The building is unfortunately not open and is currently for sale or lease.
